Let’s equalize from the command line

Did you know Linux has a pretty simple and powerful way to equalize the audio output? Using it you can adjust the high and low tones and adapt the sound to the quality your speakers.

In Ubuntu, just install the package “libasound2-plugin-equal”. Then run this command from the terminal prompt

alsamixer -D equal
The audio mixer should look like this:

Ok, sorry: the locale is not in English… anyway, using the cursor keys you can select the frequency and adjust the volume!
